Simply Wedding Photography was founded by Barry Mitchell, a Dundee-based photographer with experience photographing more than 200 weddings.
Over the years, I've photographed everything from small, intimate ceremonies at local registry offices to grand celebrations in castles and exclusive wedding venues.
One thing I've learned is that some of the most memorable wedding photographs are the ones that happen naturally. The nervous smiles before the ceremony, the laughter between friends, the proud expressions of parents and those little moments that couples often don't even realise are happening.
My approach has always been simple: capture the day as it unfolds, with as little interruption as possible.
With more than 200 weddings behind me, I understand how a wedding day works, when to step forward and, just as importantly, when to stay in the background.
My photography is predominantly candid, capturing genuine expressions, emotions and interactions without constantly asking people to stop what they're doing and pose for the camera.
Of course, there are times when a little organisation is needed. I'm more than happy to arrange beautiful portraits of the happy couple, family photographs and those traditional group shots that everyone loves to look back on.
I use professional Canon camera equipment with Sigma Art lenses, allowing me to work confidently in a variety of locations and lighting conditions.
But ultimately, great wedding photography isn't about the equipment. It's about experience, timing and knowing how to capture the right moment.
Your wedding should feel like a wedding, not a five-hour photoshoot.
Having photographed weddings of all shapes and sizes, I've come to appreciate that you don't need a photographer following you around for twelve hours to have beautiful memories of your special day.
Times have changed, and many modern couples are looking for something simpler. They want beautiful, professional photographs of the moments that matter, without the expense of a traditional full-day photography package.
That's why I created Simply Wedding Photography.
Rather than offering expensive, all-day packages with lots of extras, we specialise in shorter wedding photography coverage, focusing on the parts of your day that matter most.
Our two straightforward packages are designed around this approach.
Ceremony Wedding Photography — £250
Up to two hours of coverage, including guest arrivals, the wedding ceremony, portraits of the newlyweds and family and group photographs afterwards.
Half-Day Wedding Photography — £400
Up to five hours of coverage, typically beginning with the wedding preparations and continuing through the ceremony, portraits, reception and speeches.
Both packages include a carefully selected collection of professionally edited, high-resolution digital photographs.
The same experience, the same professional standards, just a simpler approach to wedding photography.
I believe the best wedding photographs come from people feeling comfortable and enjoying themselves.
I'm not there to take over your day, constantly interrupt conversations or spend hours arranging complicated poses.
Instead, I prefer to work quietly in the background, capturing the atmosphere, the laughter, the emotions and all those spontaneous moments that make your wedding unique.
When it's time for the couple portraits or family photographs, I'll offer friendly guidance and keep things moving so you can get back to celebrating with your guests.
We'll also discuss any particular photographs you'd like during our initial consultation, so you can relax knowing we've planned for the moments that matter to you.
Simply Wedding Photography is built on my experience and approach, but the aim is to develop a small, trusted team of photographers who share the same values.
I've worked with additional photographers in the past and understand the benefits of having reliable, talented people working together.
As the business grows, our commitment will remain the same: experienced photography, a friendly and unobtrusive approach, clear pricing and beautiful photographs that couples can treasure for years to come.
Every couple will know who is photographing their wedding before their booking is confirmed.
Whether you're planning a small ceremony at a Dundee registry office or a celebration at one of the area's beautiful wedding venues, we'd love to hear about your plans.
Beautiful wedding photography, without the fuss or unnecessary expense.
